I am making some fun patches to repair holes in my children's bedsheets. These bedsheets are given by my mother in law. It was being used by herself, her children, and now her grandchildren. You may guess the age of the bedsheets from the print. However, these 'thick like canvas and yet soft like cotton' fabric is really hard to find nowadays. Moreover, it is a common belief that children are 'easier to take care of' if they were wearing clothes or using things that passed from others. I hope too, I could pass down 'my fun patches bedsheets' to my grandchildren.
My Fun Patches Bedsheets
Materials:
scrap fabric
sewing machine
scissors
Method:
1. use zigzag sewing to sew torn fabric together and close up the hole.
2. cut out patch from scrap fabric, make sure it is bigger than the hole.
3. cover the patch over hole and pin the patch in place.
4. sew all the way around the patch by using zigzag sewing.
so creative..still looks nice.
