DIY Light Box for Tracing

This is my DIY paper tracing light box. It was made from a thick solid carton box. Thanks to Uncle Tan for his help on the complicated part: fixing florescent tubes and wiring inside the box. The rest of the process are just easy, cut a hole on top of the box, leave about 3 inches for the edges, place sand glass over the box and secure it with duct tape.
I especially like this part (see last picture) where I can push and keep the wire inside the box when I am not using it. Isn't it neat and creative?

  4. Cool idea, but isn't the lamp inside a cardboard box a fire hazard?
