Doily CNY Gift Bag

I made this as a gift bag for this coming Chinese New Year (CNY), as most people are now environmental friendly and stopped (or minimising) in using plastic bags. I hope this bag can be reused and passed around to others when visiting friends and relatives.

Doily CNY Gift Bag
Materials:
plain canvas tote
paper doily
fabric paint, red
sponge & brush
UHU glue

Steps:
1. use UHU glue to secure paper doily on fabric.
2. layer a piece of paper inside the bag to prevent color going through the next layer of fabric.
3. use sponge to paint over the doily holes.
4. peel off doily before paint dries.
5. trace chinese charactor on the fabric and use brush to fill it in with paint.
6. let dry under sun at least one day before washing.
